Elfun Society History - First Elfun Meeting Minutes

The Elfun Society
Meeting #1 Association Island July 15, 1928.
Mr. Swope read the proposed constitution of the Society.
Article 5 provided for an Administrative Committee of eleven to be
elected from the members of the Society. In lieu of a nominating
committee, Mr. Swope proposed the following nominations:
W.R.G. Baker
A.D. Cameron
R.E. Doherty
C.H. Lang
A.W. Lunn
E.E. Potter
T.K. Quinn
M.L. Sloan
E.D. Spicer
G.M. Stevens
C.E. Wilson
It was moved and seconded that the nominations be closed.
The proposed committee was unanimously elected.
Article 7 provided that this Administrative Committee
serve for a period of one year. It was moved and seconded that
4 be elected for one year, 3 for two years and 3 for three years.
An amendment was moved but not seconded that part of the committee
be elected and the balance selected by those elected. By vote of
those present the motion was lost. The Administrative Committee,
therefore, hold office for one year.
The proposed constitution was offered to those present for
adoption. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that it
be referred to the Administrative Committee with power.
The next regular meeting was scheduled for the Summer
Conference of 1929.
