Elfun Society Chapter Secretary Role and Responsibilities

Increase your understanding of general chapter procedures by reading "Administrative Overview" section from the "Chairman & Vice Chairman Responsibilities".
Keep minutes of all chapter and executive committee meetings. Distribute locally to your Area Director, and to the Elfun Headquarters when the information is of value for sharing best practices or of general interest.
Become familiar with Elfun eligibility requirements found under the "Global Constitution & By-Laws" to assure that guidelines are being followed correctly.
Maintain official chapter membership database and mailing list of chapter members.
Learn the use of the Elfun Database. If there is a problem, please contact Headquarters Administration at 8*229-3200 or +1-203-373-3200. Make all updates, i.e., transfers, new member information, retirements, and deaths on a timely basis.
Important Note: In accordance with Elfun's By-Laws, it is important that the results of your new member activities are recorded in the central database. This will keep the records current, providing headquarters and benefit providers with accurate membership information.
Keep informed to cases of sickness or accident of members (both regular and senior) and notify chapter members. Take whatever action is the custom designated by your chapter.
Correspond for the chapter as requested by the chairman and vice chairman.
