The Program Chairmen is vital to the success of the chapter's overall activities. The Program Chairman should be chosen for creativeness and ability to discern what kind of program will appeal to the membership. The Program Chairman also needs to be able to obtain volunteers to lead specific events and thereby obtain widespread participation.

Specific responsibilities of the Program Chairman and chairmen of individual events are as follows:

• Plan overall program plan for the chapter year.

• Make contacts and obtain commitment for speakers.

• Arrange for meeting place and necessary facilities.

• Send meeting notices to members.

• Maintain attendee lists.

• Ensure events are covered by liability insurance.
